The EDF group, through its subsidiary Exaion, becomes validator of Tezos (XTZ)

The EDF group, through its subsidiary Exaion, becomes the first French company to participate in the Tezos ecosystem (XTZ) as an institutional validator. By officially becoming the network’s “baker”, Exaion will now participate in the operation of the Tezos blockchain.

EDF turns to Tezos (XTZ)

With its subsidiary Exaion , the EDF group joins the Tezos ecosystem , and does things by halves. This startup specializing in Blockchain As a Service (BaaS) solutions turned to Tezos to offer its customers simplified and complete access to services based on this blockchain.

Particularly attached to respect for the environment, Exaion becomes a validator of the Tezos network , in particular because it provides stable nodes that consume little energy.

As a reminder, the Tezos blockchain uses a specific consensus algorithm, based on a Liquid Proof-of-Stake (LPoS) mechanism. Thus, the creation of the blocks is carried out by the “ Bakers ” (or bakers), network actors playing the same role as the miners for Bitcoin (BTC).

Each block of Tezos is created by a baker selected at random, approved by other bakers and validated by the rest of the network. To do this, bakers place their XTZs as collateral , in order to ensure that the blocks are properly validated.

If you have XTZ tokens, you can delegate them to Exaion, who will staking them for you while giving you rewards. More information on this is available in the Exaion FAQ .

Commenting on this great breakthrough for Tezos, Fatih Balyeli , CEO and co-founder of Exaion, points out:

“Our choice to use the Tezos blockchain came about naturally. Becoming a Baker on Tezos allows us to significantly limit our energy consumption and is part of our sustainable development policy while offering a quality digital offer. “

Tezos (XTZ) to conquer institutions

For Michel Mauny, president of Nomadic Labs , the arrival of Exaion within the Tezos ecosystem allows the project to get closer to institutions, and gives it a real spotlight on the French scene:

„By becoming an institutional baker, Exaion strengthens its status as a pioneer in the blockchain sector and, by planning to use this technology for certain customer and business cases, confirms the viability of the Tezos project, paving the way for a growing commitment from French institutional actors. “

The involvement of the EDF group in the Tezos project marks a major turning point for the cryptocurrency industry in France. On Twitter, journalist Grégory Raymond specifies in particular:

There is no doubt that this is a huge step forward for Tezos . The network already had Binance and Coinbase in the ranks of its validators. The inclusion of Exaion, and therefore of the EDF group, represents a major step for the project.

Tezos, partly maintained by French developers and researchers, becomes one of the first of the institutions wishing to take a step towards blockchain. Last month, Société Générale with its subsidiary Forge had notably selected Tezos to conduct experiments on a central bank digital currency (MNBC).
